August 5, 2026
Good evening,
SO. Update to the website first and foremost, I'm trying to figure out how to make a custom cursor (not working very well at the moment), and I added the movie review section! What I realized after doing so, however, is that I technically already HAD a section for movies! It was my movie, book, and game recommendation page. I think its still different though, because an excited literary analysis about a piece of media is different than a recommendation. Because like, there's some things I'll talk about that I would never recommend to anyone ever. Have you ever sat and read something and it was just so poorly written that it caused physical pain? That's how I feel about some of the things I've slogged through in the past.
Additionally, I've been working on the tshirt, but I have pivoted from Spider-Man to a Punisher logo (specifically his horned, 2022 appearance that was updated), because I am literally only happy about Frank's appearance in the movie and nothing else. I think I'll go on about Francis Castle one day because he is one of those characters that, when given to a writer that understands the core aspects of the character (he hates bigots, creeps, racists, corrupt officials, etc) and actually understands nuance, he has some of my favorite storylines! (Shoutout to Valerie D'Orazio for giving the world one of my favorite short Punisher stories ever!) I actually am really happy with how the shirt looks mocked up right now. I wish there were more GIFs of his appearance in the spiderman cartoon from the 90s/00s because that was one of my favorite cartoon takes on him.
FLASH WARNING AHEAD
I know you guys can't see the time difference, but just as I wrote that last bit, I got distracted and ended up making a couple GIFs because I remembered that was something I was capable of doing.
That was about a half an hour of my night right there (I had to track down the clips lol). I love his design in this version, like I said before. I take a lot of inspiration from here whenever I end up drawing him.
Another thing! I saw Hadestown's proshot Monday night! It was so good and I don't care how many times I will read/see the story of Orpheous and Euradyce, I will ALWAYS start crying when he turns around. It's actually one of my favorite Greek myths, it's just heartbreaking. I'm probably going to break down some of my thoughts on it later since it counts as a movie.
I wish I could sit and fool with everything for longer, but I have to clear off my bed because I made the poor executive decision of trying to sort through all of my loose writings and sketches, and now it's covered in about a decade's worth of concept art, random papers that have full story synopses that have yet to be written, and the occasional reciept. A hell of my own making, truly.
Have a good night everybody!
